Love this picture - just had to share! We have been so busy packing and moving and this heat is almost unbearable......could almost go for this right now! With all we are doing, I am sure we would work off all the calories!
This is the time every year we really start hating the heat - and cannot wait for cooler weather - so ready to wear some 'winter' clothes.
Hopefully we will be all moved and settled soon and can get back to some good posts!

"Shoes-day" Tuesday!
We are so ready for Fall/Winter - so tired of this crazy heat.....so we couldn't resist. Love these boots! Unfortunately, it will be quite a while still before we can drag out the boots - but at least we can dream!

A Quote For Today......
"It is better to fail in originality than to succeed in imitation"
~ Herman Melville
Don't you just hate it when you put so much time and effort into something and then someone just copies you?!?

Fun Shower Themes
It seems the typical bridal shower is a thing of the past.....now people are coming up with so many creative ideas for showers! Here are a few fun ones:
*Lingerie - Each guest of course will bring lingerie for the bride! Set the mood for the party - evening is best so you can have lots of candles...and use lots of pink, red, black....
These are just a few samplings....get creative and see what you can come up with!
*Stock the Pantry - When you send out invitations include a cute recipe card for the guests to write their favorite recipe for the couple and attach it to a cute basket containing all non-perishable ingredients! Get creative - add other special touches, if your recipe is for your famous margaritas...add two wonderful margarita glasses...s!*Wine Tasting - This one is pretty self explanatory! Have each guest bring a favorite bottle of wine (you should find out ahead of time what kind - red, white.... the couple prefers and add that to the invitation) - also have guests add extra's - wine glasses, corkscrews, etc....
*Stock the Bar - This is a really fun one! Unlike the wine party - any type of drink is in order! Remember....a good bar needs more than just drinks - lots of accessories apply as well! hmm.....can we have one of these parties - soon? :)
*Lingerie - Each guest of course will bring lingerie for the bride! Set the mood for the party - evening is best so you can have lots of candles...and use lots of pink, red, black....
*Christmas Ornament -This is a great idea for a winter wedding! Let guests know the 'theme' the couple would love for their first tree and each guest will bring a special ornament. This can bring years of memories!
*Tea Party - These are actually becoming more popular than ever! Have each guest wear their favorite hat and gloves! Serve lots of finger foods such as scones, mini sandwiches, etc...of course serve tea in lovely cups!
These are just a few samplings....get creative and see what you can come up with!

We Shall NEVER Forget... *9/11*
the ninth month brought the end to many,
the eleventh was a day of testing
nine one one a call for help from any
it left no time of resting.
true warriors dressed in red suits
navy blue or yellow
they called in all the recruits
to rescue ailing fellow.
what senseless acts of violence
rain down on us today
what path will cross with terror
and cause us great dismay?
this is the world our children face.
their lives are being molded.
the acts of hate, time won't erase,
like a shroud it has enfolded.
what can we say? what can we do?
as time whirls swiftly by
let LoVe be instilled with a family view
so our values never die.
To ALL the American's (the brave firefighter's and police officers, & the passenger's of flight 93, who also showed great bravery and heroism)
whom we lost on that horrific and tragic day... we will never forget!
And a BiG "Thank-You"
to ALL of our men and women who give up so much to keep us safe and to fight against evil every day. You all are true hero's, & the Chic Team thanks & supports all of you!

"You Might Be A Wedding Planner If..."
You Might Be A Wedding Planner If...
*your 2-year-olds birthday party had: seating arrangements, place cards and a timeline
*it takes you two weeks and four vendors to plan dinner
*you can pretty much do all your household chores & run errands while wearing heels
*your to-do lists are in calligraphy
*75% or more of your Facebook friends are wedding vendors
*you insist Thanksgiving begin with a rehearsal dinner
*you have an emergency stack of linens in your trunk
*you know every Starbucks within a 30 mile radius...and they greet you by name
*your work desk has a centerpiece
*your last Easter dinner was more extravagant than most weddings...
including your personal chocolate fountain, dessert bar and specialty drink
*you can tie a chair sash in 3 seconds flat - blindfolded
*you can fix anything with tape, safety pins or super glue
*you know the floorplan of every venue within a 50 mile radius
*you always show up 2 hours early just to make sure everything is "set"
*you send out 'save-the-dates' for your football parties
*which begins with a cocktail hour and butlered hors d'oeuvres
*and....your dining room table chairs are covered in chair covers and sashes in your team colors
*you know the exact number of votives that fit on 72" rounds (tables!)
*every time you leave church, you envision sparklers, bubbles or rose petal exits
*wedding cake and fast food become major food groups
*you always carry over-sized purses, not only because it's fashionable,
but because you need the room for everything but the kitchen sink
(emergency kit, contracts, your over-stuffed planner...)
