The Hills... Red Carpet Fashion! ♥

From Audrina Patridge and Kristin Cavallari's cute clutches
to Whitney Port's snakeskin Jimmy Choo booties
to the nude lips, wavy hair, and fabulous updos!

Kristin Cavallari wore a beige bandage-inspired dress with sequins by Zuhair Murad

Lo Bosworth wore a white dress by Tadashi Shoji

Holly Montag wore a white strapless dress with feather accents on the bust by Rami Kashou,
the Project Runway runner-up from season four

Stephanie Pratt wore a skin-tight blue bandage dress by Hervé Léger

Whitney Port wore a Matthew Williamson tank dress that featured cut-outs at the waist, with colors like blue, pink, yellow, red, and purple printed all over it.
& Miss Lauren Conrad wore a funky metalic dress with an amazing back by an unknown desinger!

AND my best picks for the night... were...

Holly & Kristin

I absolutely loved, loved, LOVED Holly's dress!

And I always LOVE what Audrina wears, but it just wasn't anything special,
which I was shocked by.
I think she went for the "sexy" look more than anything...
which hey I guess she is trying to get the attention of producers out there.

Who were your favs?

If you loved Holly's dress too, here's a link to the designers website: http://ramikashou.com/collections.html

A Hollywood Ending...

and that is exactly what it was...

In the final scene,
star Kristin Cavallari is shown on the street saying goodbye
to her former love Brody Jenner.
Cavallari has decided to go to Europe to "find herself." The two bid farewell, and the audience is treated to a montage of scenes from the entire series set to a remix of the show's theme song,
"Unwritten" by Natasha Bedingfield.  (which I LOVED by the way)

Then, Cavallari gets into the back of a black car that is presumably headed for the airport. Jenner watches mournfully as the car drives off into the distance.
But then the camera pans out to reveal a fake, Hollywood backdrop (as an MTV.com article describes it). As the background slips away, it appears as though at least some of the final scene has taken place not on a Los Angeles street corner, but on a studio set.

As camera operators and other production staff begin breaking down the set, Cavallari gets out of the sedan and into the arms of a waiting Jenner.
She was never going to the airport.
The entire scene was fake, and the status of the couple's relationship, if it ever even existed,
is now up in the air, along with the rest of the show's plotlines.

Like many contemporary TV finales, this one is open to interpretation.
"The Hills,"
which since 2006 has revolved around the minute and often banal details of the friendships and love lives of privileged twentysomethings, has been called fake since it began.
Audiences were already aware that the show's producers played a role in setting up confrontations.

It could be that the ending was a joke, just the show's producers winking at the audience. After all, as the credits roll, the camera continues to pan out until it's revealed that it's in a helicopter, and the final image looks down upon the 'Hollywood' sign as if to say, "Hey, it's Hollywood: Nothing in this town is totally real."

I, personally, loved the ending!
It fit the show perfectly,
because everyone was always gossiping if it was truly real or scripted!
Scripted or Real... I didn't really care...
(I mean what "reality show" out there is really a reality anyways)
I mainly watched for the fashion...
I loved tuning in every Tuesday night to see what outfits and shoes the girls were wearing!
And also for the music, they always had great music!
I mean HELLO they did have Miss Lady GaGa on the show before she made it BIG! :)

I'm absolutely in LOVE with these dresses!
I especially adore the dress above

Lady GaGa dolls! ♥

keeping theme with my last post...
it's like GaGa day here at *Chic Talk*!
                                           ♥

unfortunately, these are not dolls that you can go to a store and get.

these dolls are DIY dolls
created by Veik, from Beijing.

he does not consider himeself a doll designer, but a doll player.

I would definitely call him a designer...
a designer of fabulousness!

I LOVE them!

Paper OR Plastic?

This dress and the ones below are more likely to be seen in an exhibition at the Museum of Modern Art,
than in your favorite wedding dress boutiques!
Yeah, something just tells me that you won't  find these gems in your favorite designer's store!
Believe me, this medley of paper dresses are indeed WORKS of ART that have my  undivided attention.
 'Art to Wear' exhibits can be truly fascinating;
What you'll see will amaze and inspire you
to be a little bold & get you thinking outside the box on your wedding day!

The above work with the model flaunting layers and tiers of newsprint
was photographed by Stephen M Loban

Paper or Plastic?
We know what photographer Adri Krisnadi asked for...
this tour de force strapless and belted number out of brown paper shopping bags
is such an amazing work of art to wear!

Buck Holzemer

Each of the above & below dresses were hand-created by Jennifer Lynn,
wardrobe stylist of Anomalous Designs

the only downside...
can't get caught in the rain wearing one of these...
sorry Seattle girls!

it's a CAKE in a card...

a CUPCAKE that is!

The American Greetings Corp. are introducing a new line of cards...
Tasties,
that are EDIBLE!
edible by...
a dissolvable flavor-strip that is attached inside the card!

this is truly "having your cake and eating it too"

"If nothing else, birthdays are a great excuse to eat cake."

& then when you open up the card...

"... lots and lots of cake."

& then the owner of the card is encouraged to "take a bite" of a yummy vanilla cupcake
(by a dissolvable flavor-srtip of course)

If the 'Birthday Girl' or 'Birthday Boy' does not like cupcakes
there are other yummy flavors...
 everything from doughnuts to margaritas!

the margarita card would be perfect for a 21'er!
and the best part... no hangover included! :)

Cards are available in grocery stores, & super centers nationwide,
as well as in American Greetings & Carlton Cards retail stores.

Top *10* Hottest Trends for 2010

No Cookie Cuttin' Around Here...

The top wedding trend is...
PERSONALIZATION
instead of a 'cookie cutter' wedding ceremony & reception,
the new focus is all on the Bride & Groom, as it should be!

iDO...

tech-savvy couples are
tweeting about their nuptials along the way...
& aside from status updates, and wedding countdowns,
they are LOVING - WeddingPreParty.com -
top website for Facebook-friendly couples
who want to bring family and friends into the planning process of their wedding!

Return to ROMANCE...

forget the "perfect day" ...
Now couples are letting go of the pressure and creating a "perfect for us" wedding!
Romance is in the air ...
with special engagement photo sessions,
and videotaped proposal stories to capture the memory
(and to share at the engagement party &/or reception)
A few other touches of romance...
an abundance of lace & tulle for gowns
& the continuing popularity of deeply emotional vows!

Bright Colors...

the only thing white should be the Bride's wedding dress!
Black accents & bright, bold colors are in!
Everything from bridesmaid dresses to the flowers & even the drinks!

Groomed for Success...

today's Groom not only rocks a tux, but he is also getting into the planning process...
with a little 'manscaping' along the way!
He has a vision for his wedding day (or at least a few worthy ideas),
he's jumping online and searching blogs like: The Groom Says, The Plunge, & The Man Registry.
It's wedding planning with a healthy shot of testosterone, while you go dress shopping!

Everything OLD is NEW Again...

Maybe it started with 'Mad Men',
or maybe with the desire to wear a pillbox hat,
or a fixation with a fabulous birdcage veil!
Brides-to-be are catching the vintage fever
&
are falling head over heels for retro-chic looks!
On the upside, vintage looks are not only classic but eco-friendly & affordable.
which brings us to our next trend...

Eco-Chic ...

eco-conscious nuptials are all the rage, featuring pre-owned & vintage wedding gowns, LED lighting, recycled paper for invitations and locally grown food & flowers!
Couples are making a commitment to each other & the environment with every "I Do"!

Sweet Treats...

tiny=cute!

think 'Season's 52' desserts!

And Candy Bars are still all the rage!

Treats aren't the only thing getting made over...
the Wedding Cake is getting a make-over too...
fondant is being replaced with butter cream icing!

Mix & Mingle...

to get your guests mingling, try lounge-style seating or family-style meal.
Anything you can do to shake up the old traditional format will give your guests a chance to socialize!
And pre-wedding and after-wedding parties are still IN!

Food You Can EAT...

today's wedding receptions are serving upscale comfort food at sit down meals, buffets and as late night snacks!
So days of having to speed-dial for delivery take-out after a wedding reception are over!
